PATSY HOPE MITCHELL, pottery, pastels, painting, mixed mediaPatsy Hope Mitchell was born and raised in Rutherford County. After retiring from a charier in nursing she began to peruse her life long love of art. She began her quest at ICC where she studied oils under Mildred Lawler. She followed Mildred to her home and continued studying under her being introduced to pastels and watercolor. Her love for pottery took her back to ICC where she studied under John King. Slab building and sculpture became her favorite. The desire to learn all forms of art has taken Patsy Hope to many workshops and visits to Wringling School of Art workshops at Wild Archers retreat in the mountains of NC where she has enjoyed taking photography, pastels and oils. If asked which medium is her favorite, Patsy Hope would reply; all of them! One thing can be sure, her deep love of nature an all living things will be obvious in her work. |
