Lori is a native of Michigan, where she was encouraged in her love of art by the example of both her mother and grandmother.

She moved to Lake Lure in 1994 and has been a member of the Lake Lure Artists since 1996. “I am inspired by the extraordinary natural beauty of this area”, she says, “and attempt to reflect that beauty in much of my artwork.”

Lori works in a broad variety of mediums, including stained glass, bead work, nature printing, watercolors, pastel, collage and ink on silk.

Along with her fellow artist Veryle Lynn Cox, she has also studied and become proficient in Iconology, the “writing” of religious icons using egg tempera. The collection of original art featured in this show comes from her nature printing experiences with the Nature Printing Society.
