Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 to 3 unless otherwise arranged. Since this is a non-profit, volunteer gallery, displaying artists are asked to donate some time to docent sitting or participating on a committee. Check the Volunteer section for more information on volunteers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gallery Guidelines

  1.  An artist must be a member of the Rutherford County Visual Artist Guild ($25 membership fee per year) to exhibit and sell in the Gallery.  Artists with work in the Gallery are asked to donate time for docent sitting in the gallery.  If unable to comply, you will be asked to assist in supporting the gallery by donating various office and cleaning supplies to assist in supporting the Gallery.  Standard gallery commissions apply.

2  Complete application and submit 3-5 representative pictures of your recent work with your application. You may e-mail picture and application to rcvartg@yahoo.com, please reference your application.

3.  Applications will be reviewed by the gallery Committee at the end of each month. Artists will be notified if their work has been accepted. After membership dues have been paid, an appointment will be made to receive work at the gallery. Artworks should be recent works. All artwork will be juried by the gallery committee.

4.  Guidelines for 2-Dimensional Works:

  • Artwork must be clean and in good condition.
  • D-rings must be used to hang framed artwork, wires must be neatly wrapped.
  • Gallery wrap-around canvas is accepted only if the edge has subject painting of solid color. (NO staples on sides.)
  • Mats must be cut properly, framed, padded and finished on back.  Glass must be clean (NO plastic or acetate in place of glass)
  • Artwork must be signed with your name. Put contact information on back.  (Copy of bio may be placed on back of work)
  • Matted artwork must be in a clear sleeve for protection. State if original print or giclee.  Bio may be included in sleeve.

5.  Guidelines for 3-Dimensional Works:

  • All artwork must be clean and in good condition, not chipped, broken or rusty.
  • Work must be signed or identified with your name.

6.  Number of items submitted to gallery may be limited depending on size and space requirements.  You will be notified at time of acceptance as to number of pieces you nay enter.

 7.  Additional art may be added by appointment only.

8.  Work may be removed from the gallery.  You must show identification to docent on duty and update your inventory sheet.  Sign and date list, obtain verification signature from docent.

9.  Identification and pricing tags will be provided at time of acceptance.
