In July 1999, interested people gathered to form the Rutherford County Visual Artists Guild. The guild has grown and has become a nonprofit organization which now operates the Visual Arts Center, a gallery, gift shop and studio in downtown Rutherfordton. Community outreach includes help to local groups who want to improve the art education and awareness of the visual arts in the community.
Membership is not limited to artists. If you are interested in and appreciate the visual arts, YOU are also welcome to join us. There are many opportunities for volunteers to participate in the guild.
