McNALLY JANET, drawing and painting

Janet started drawing and painting as soon as was able to pick up crayons and brushes. Oil pastels at seven; oils at ten.

She went on to study art at Syracuse University, graduating with honors in the field of design after which she persued a career in fashion and textile design. Overseeing both design and production at plants led to inroads into technology. She also taught Textile print technology at Parsons School of Design after which she moved to the South to run her own consulting business.

Upon retiring, Janet returned to fine arts, and after experimenting in several media, chose to concentrate on pastel painting eight years ago. As a member of Lake Lure Artists, she has participated in activities an shows in the area as well as presentations of technique and materials.
