Fran Brooks is an award winning, professional artist, residing in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, who paints in oils, acrylics and mixed media.  Fran and her husband live in a log cabin with their Border Collie, Sammy, who has been the inspiration for several paintings.  Her greatest inspiration comes from the natural beauty in the landscape of the surrounding mountains with the abundant wildlife.  Basically a self-taught artist, Fran has also been inspired from studying the works of noted landscape and seascape artists with her style evolving into realism with some impressionism at times.

Her subjects include country and mountain landscapes, lighthouses, animals/wildlife, children/people, angels, still life, seascapes, birds, butterflies, country cottages, Border Collies, wolves and fantasy.  Fran enjoys starting with a captivating landscape and adding the appropriate animal or bird to complete the theme, oftentimes hiding a critter in the painting.  Fran also does commissioned paintings upon request. 

Her paintings hang in many private collections in the United States, Australia, Canada, France and the United Kingdom as well as on exhibit in North Carolina.  Fran is a member of Lake Lure Artists in Lake Lure, Rutherford County Visual Artists Guild in Rutherfordton, North Carolina as well as several eBay artist groups where she specializes in creating miniature artwork and prints.  Prints and greeting/note cards are also available directly from the artist, reproduced from a wide variety of her paintings.  Merchandise containing images of her paintings can also be found at CafePress.com.  You can see this merchandise by looking at Great Stuff on www.artistnannie.com.
